Chatsworth Fieldtrip

Recently we had the pleasure of contributing a project to an exhibition at Chatsworth House entitled 'Make Yourself Comfortable'.

We contributed the 'Fantasy Dinner Party' project for the exhibition on seating and chairs that featured other designers such as Thomas Heatherwick, Amanda Levete, Marc Newson, Tokujin Yoshioka, Piet Hein Eek and Moritz Waldemeyer who had chairs based around the House.

The exhibition has now closed but here's some pictures of recent trip up to Chatsworth exploring the House & Gardens (and a few snaps of the project too).

You can see the rest of our project here or even more images on our flickr. Chatsworth is a beautiful house in the Derbyshire Dales, it's well worth a visit, we hear they have a great Christmas market!

Dubai Design Week

Recently we worked with the Art Dubai Group (our first international client) supporting their launch of the inaugural Dubai Design Week with a logo and bespoke typeface to drive communications. The Middle Easts first Design Week will be held October 26th–31st throughout Dubai.

Below is the logo, typeface and a few snapshots of the identity. (Please note mentioned events and programming are indicative only).

The Nest Project
(Introducing our first product)

This week at Fieldwork Facility we launched our first product concept.

The Nest Project is our inquiry aimed at encouraging bird life in inner-city areas, making our neighbourhoods nicer places to live and work; encouraging a sense of place for all.

The Nests are designed to exist in the urban environment, easily attaching onto existing lamp-posts and street furniture. The nests are homes for birds but also urban interventions for people; they highlight nature's place in our urban fabric.

WIRED have interviewed me this week about the project, it's a great write up which can you read here.

FastCo picked up on the story earlier in the week which you read here.

And back on UK shores Design Week also gave the project a little feature.

We're really keen at FF Towers to see how the public reacts to the concept, if you have any feedback or if your interested in partnering with us on the project drop us an email at [email protected]
